Brabus has released they latest tuning package for Mercedes SL-Class.
BRABUS refines the new Mercedes SL Roadster
BRABUS now also customizes the sixth generation of the Mercedes SL. The measures include a striking BRABUS designer outfit, thrilling alloy wheels up to 20 inches in diameter, even more agile handling as a result of professional suspension tuning, a power increase to 520 hp (512 bhp) / 382 kW for a top speed of up to 300 km/h (186 mph) for the 500 SL, and interior options custom-tailored to the owner’s personal style.
Sporty-elegant body styling components, tuned in the wind tunnel for maximum aerodynamic efficiency, are the BRABUS designers’ specialty. With or without AMG Sport package: Custom-tailored front fasciae, add-on components for the side sills and rear fasciae were developed for both body styles of the SL. There is also a BRABUS rear spoiler and side air vents for the front fenders. For a perfect fit all components are manufactured in OEM quality from high-grade PUR plastics.
Just as important for a custom look are the OEM-quality BRABUS Monoblock wheels, which can be mounted on the new roadster in four different designs and with diameters of 18, 19 and 20 inches. The largest combination to fit the R 231 model series SL features BRABUS Monoblock F, Q or R wheels in size 9Jx20 in front with size 255/30 ZR 20 tires and size 9.5Jx20 wheels with 295/25 ZR 20 tires on the rear axle. BRABUS recommends high-performance tires from Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA.
To be able to further improve upon the already high level of driving dynamics of the new Mercedes roadster BRABUS has developed custom-tailored suspension components in collaboration with technology partner BILSTEIN. BRABUS sport springs are available for the SL 350 with conventional steel suspension. For all SL models with active ABC suspension the BRABUS suspension engineers have developed an electronic module that lowers the ride height by about 25 millimeters.
This makes the SL 500 the perfect beneficiary of even more power. The BRABUS B50 – 520 PowerXtra CGI power kit wrestles an additional 85 horsepower from the 4.7-liter eight-cylinder Biturbo engine. BRABUS recommends using fully synthetic high-performance motor oil from MOTUL.
The BRABUS PowerXtra module with plug-and-play design is integrated into the engine electronics to generate more power as a result of special mapping for injection and ignition as well as of moderately increased boost pressure. But that’s just one part of the equation. The conversion also includes an auxiliary water-to-air intercooler powered by an auxiliary electric pump. The drop in charge air temperature benefits not only power yield but also engine life even under extreme operating conditions such as in the desert, for example.
After the conversion the engine puts 520 hp (512 bhp) / 382 kW instead of the standard 435 hp (429 bhp) / 320 kW on tap, accompanied by a peak torque of 820 Nm (604 lb-ft). Consequently the two-seater accelerates to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. The BRABUS Vmax unit, another component of the engine tuning, allows limiting the top speed electronically to 250, 275 or 300 km/h (155, 172, 186 mph).
A BRABUS stainless-steel sport exhaust system with four chrome-plated tailpipes is indispensable for an SL with BRABUS high-performance engine. It is also perfect for all roadster owners longing for a sportier exhaust note and a more striking rear appearance of their two-seater. BRABUS will offer a version with butterfly valve for the SL 500 shortly. It will allow choosing between a soft and a thrillingly sporty exhaust note via a button on the steering wheel.
The BRABUS limited-slip differential with a locking rate of 40 percent can improve handling even further.
The two-seated cockpit can receive even more individual character and luxury attributes at BRABUS. The product lineup ranges from scuff plates with backlit BRABUS logo and a speedometer with 320-km/h or 360-km/h dial (200 mph or 225 mph) to carbon-fiber or fine wood trim sets in any imaginable color and with a variety of surface finishes.
The company upholstery shop creates exquisite BRABUS interiors from especially soft yet durable BRABUS Mastik leather and Alcantara.
Volvo has announced Volvo C30 Polestar Limited Edition price starts at $32,445,
Volvo Introduces 2013 C30 Polestar Limited Edition
Specially equipped model targets enthusiasts
Production limited to 250 vehicles exclusively for U.S. market
Standard Polestar performance software increases horsepower, torque
While the Volvo C30 has often been called the sportiest-looking Volvo, a new, limited-production version may also be called an “enthusiast magnet” when it makes its way to showrooms in November.
The 2013 Volvo C30 Polestar Limited Edition will definitely be limited in volume – only 250 will be made, beginning in October. But it won’t be limited when it comes to youthful exuberance and is packaged in a remarkably attractive and affordable container. The base MSRP is $32,445, which includes an $895 destination charge.
The excitement begins under the hood where the C30′s standard 2.5-liter turbocharged 5-cylinder engine receives a healthy performance upgrade. Polestar, Volvo’s official performance partner, provides performance software that boosts output by 23 horsepower and 37 lb.-ft. of torque to 250 hp and 273 lb.-ft. This power boost is realized by increasing airflow into the combustion chambers and advancing spark timing.
Polestar’s upgrade offers the best of both worlds: Optimized power and torque without affecting fuel consumption. This is possible thanks to efficient tuning of the engine which only increases the power output when it’s needed. Thus EPA fuel economy estimates are identical to the standard C30 T5 R-Design with 21 mpg city/29 mpg highway for the six-speed manual transmission and 21 mpg city/30 mpg highway with the optional five-speed Geartronic automatic.
The visual magnetism of the C30 Polestar Limited Edition is enhanced with new 17-inch Styx alloy wheels with matte black finish and Polestar badges on the rear and sides of the vehicle. To signify that this C30 is special, all 250 iterations will wear the new-for-2013 exterior hue of Rebel Blue and have a special interior numbered plate.
Inside, the C30 Polestar Limited Edition’s sporty cabin is dressed with premium leather seating surfaces in a choice of Off-Black or two-tone Off-Black and Calcite. Standard features, equivalent to the Premier Plus trim level of the C30 T5 R-Design, include a power glass sunroof, power driver’s seat with memory, soft loadcover, auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass, power passenger’s seat, LED daytime running lights, Keyless Drive and active dual Xenon headlights.
Customers can further upgrade this model by selecting the optional Platinum trim level. This includes the superb Volvo Premium Sound System with Dolby® Pro Logic® II Surround Sound, 10 loudspeakers and an astonishing 650 watts. Also included is a navigation system with real time traffic, remote control and map care plus Sirius/XM satellite radio.
The C30 Polestar Limited Edition features standard R-Design cues including a color-coordinated body kit, front grille R-Design logo, R-Design watch dial instrument cluster, unique aluminum inlays, R-Design sport steering wheel and sport pedals.
For 2013, this version – like all C30s – gains standard rain sensor windshield wipers and headlight washers. A Climate Package can be added to the C30 Polestar Limited Edition with heated front seats, Electronic Climate Control (ECC) and Interior Air Quality System (IAQS).
A Sport Chassis, standard on the C30 T5 R-Design and C30 Polestar Limited Edition, provides improved chassis dynamics and steering reflexes. Compared to the C30 T5, spring stiffness for the R-Design is increased by 30 percent while the dampers feature a mono-tube design that builds up pressure quicker for 20 percent increased low-speed damping. Steering is more precise with stiffer bushings and a 10-percent-quicker steering ratio.
Like all C30s, the C30 Polestar Limited Edition is well-equipped with standard safety features including Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC), Volvo’s Side Impact Protection System (SIPS) and Whiplash Protection Seating System (WHIPS).
VATH has released they latest tuning package for the Mercedes Benz E500.
Since 2011 Mercedes Benz installs the new generation of biturbo engines in more and more 500 models.
These are more fuel efficient and more powerful than the previous naturally aspirated engines.
Representative for the identically powered models CLS 500, S 500, CL 500, SL 500, ML 500 and G 500, the company VÄTH has subjected the current E 500 biturbo to an performance upgrade, which competes with a E 63 with a naturally aspirated engine.
The professionals from Hoesbach have really put some beef in the currently exciting E-Class: Genes from the racing sport were practically implanted in the E 500 biturbo through V50S. The optimization of the engine electronics compromises the individual fine tuning including the increased Vmax, the Väth charge air cooling system and the also in-house rear silencer system.
With 381 kW / 520 hp and maximum torque of 810 Nm from 4,633 cc, the E 500 biturbo is no way inferior even to an AMG after his power upgrade, though he has less thirst in contrast to an old E 63 AMG for example. From the standing position, the 100 km/h are reached in 4.5 seconds (with appropriate tire approval!) and a maximum speed of 300 km/h is possible. At this point it must be mentioned, that fuel, engine and transmission oil are cooled specifically. Simultaneously, the high-performance brake system is optimized appropriately on the front axle with 390 mm brake discs, potted for 6 piston calipers, including brake linings, racing brake fluid and steelflex brake hoses.
The three-piece forged wheels by VÄTH in 9×20 inch with tires in the dimension 245/30-20 at the front axle and 10.5 x 20 inch with 285/25-20 at the rear stand perfect in the body. In this context it must be said about the modified sports suspension (well known at Mercedes as the Airmatic), that it is pleasantly comfortable in the first damper stage and sporty-hard in the second damper stage, that achieves a further improved cornering performance. The front spoiler, made of high quality carbon fibre, and the radiator grille without the star achieve in addition to the nobler appearance also improved aerodynamics, just as the carbon fibre rear diffusor with fins and larger underbody, as well as the trunk spoiler lip, also in carbon fibre.
In the interior there is a sport steering wheel in leather/leather design, also available on demand with carbon or woodwork, and the VÄTH speedometer extension to 360 km/h. The total cost for this modification amounts to 32.250 euros plus VAT.
