Citroen C1

Citroën’s popular C1 has a sparkling new look and even greater buyer appeal for 2012. The brand’s entry-level city car has already attracted over 620,000 customers worldwide, with more than 80,000 sold in the UK since its launch in 2005. Now, with new styling, enhanced levels of equipment and a more frugal engine, the New C1 sets an even higher benchmark in the segment.

New features include CO2 emissions from just 99g/km, LED daytime running lights, a CD audio system with Citroën’s integrated Connecting Box (Bluetooth® system with USB socket) and an Electronic Gearbox System with steering-mounted paddles.

Making its world debut at the Brussels Motor Show on 10 January, the New C1 will be available in the UK from April 2012.

A PRACTICAL, USER-FRIENDLY CITY CAR

At just 3.44m long, the New C1 remains the most compactmodel in the Citroën range. Available in both 3-door and 5-door guise from launch, the New C1 appeals as one of the most economical and ecological city cars on the market, but it still has the ability to transport four adults in comfort and boasts a plethora of storage compartments in the dashboard, central console and door panels. Boot volume can also be adjusted thanks to folding rear seats and ranges from 139 litres to over 700 litres. The New C1’s compact dimensions make it the ideal travelling companion, offering an agile and responsive ride, perfectly tailored for urban and city driving. A turning circle of just 9.63 metres makes the New C1 incredibly easy to manoeuvre in city traffic.

UP TO 65.7 MPG & 99 G/KM OF CO2

Agile and frugal, the New Citroën C1 is powered by a three-cylinder petrol engine developing 68hp. Equipped with a manual gearbox, the New Citroën C1 1.0i boasts improved fuel economy of up to 65.7mpg over a combined cycle. Emissions are also improved, to just 99g/km of CO2, making the New C1 congestion charge exempt. As well as being the first Citroën petrol model to emit less than 100g/km of CO2, the New C1 is also available with an Electronic Gearbox System complete with steering-mounted paddle controls for enhanced handling and driving pleasure. This EGS version delivers an impressive 62.8 mpg (combined) and emits only 104g/km of CO2.

EVEN MORE CHARACTER ON THE OUTSIDE

The New Citroën C1 gains even more appeal and personality through its new front end and shorter bonnet.

The headlights keep their rounded shape, while the front bumper has been entirely redesigned to house fog lights and LED daytime running lights, which are still a rarity in the segment. The vertical design LED light signature – which is specific toCitroën and can also be seen on DS3 and C4 AIRCROSS – strengthens the character of the new model. At the rear, New C1 retains its innovative glass tailgate and features the brand’s new chevrons and badging.

New C1 also gains new ‘Notus’ design 14” wheels and is available with ‘Rift’ 14” alloy wheels, as standard, on top of the range models.

ATTRACTIVE COLOURS & MATERIALS

The playful New Citroën C1 comes in a special launch colour that already adorns the C3 and DS3: Botticelli blue, a fresh-looking body colour included in the 2012 catalogue. The range of body colours also includes Scarlet red, Electra blue, Lipizzan white, Caldera black and two grey tones – one light, Gallium grey, and one dark, Carlinite grey.Citroën has also finished the grille with a chrome strip available from the mid-range trim level. The New Citroën C1 is as attractive inside as it is from the exterior. The leather steering wheel for EGS models has been redesigned, while manual gearbox versions get a new-look gearstick. Most models are available with stylish new ‘Orsai’ upholstery and entry-level models come with Mistral ‘Nokimat’ cloth. A Leather/Alcantara® option is now available, adding a high-end touch to the New C1 interior.

NEW ‘CRÉATIVE TECHNOLOGIE’ EQUIPMENT

The New Citroën C1 comes with a range of ‘Créative Technologie’ features. Technological treats, just for the driver, include steering-mounted paddle controls for the Electronic Gearbox System – a first for the C1. For even greater travelling comfort, the radio offering has been enhanced by a new facia matching the styling of the dashboard. Featuring a time display, the all-new CD audio system comes with a Connecting Box (optional from the second trim level and standard on top of the range models), which is able to read all MP3 formats and is equipped with a Bluetooth® function. It is accompanied by USB and jack hook-ups at the base of the central console.

ENHANCED WELL-BEING & SAFETY

The New C1 is a versatile performer. Complementing its existing on-road abilities, the model features new power steering settings and shock absorbers for more agility and ride comfort at low speeds. The new model will be available with a range of technologies for safer urban driving, including ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Isofix anchorage points and ESP.

WORLD DEBUT IN BRUSSELS

The New Citroën C1 will make its official debut at the Brussels Motor Show on Tuesday 10 January (Press Day). The general public will be able to view the new model from 12 – 22 January on Citroën’s stand in Hall 6.

Citroen C4

More than 100,000 new Citroën C4 vehicles have rolled of the assembly line since the model was launched one year ago. Following on from this commercial success, the Marque is now extending its C4 range with an original model: the Citroën C4 Aircross. This new vehicle reviews the conventional cues of compact SUV design. By combining style and technological innovation in a single car, the Citroën C4 Aircross is ideally suited to modern lifestyles that introduce a sense of escape into everyday activities. This new body style draws upon the Marque’s technological excellence, combining the grip of an off-roader with the ride and driveability of a saloon. Available in 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive versions, depending on the engine, the Citroën C4 Aircross will be launched in the first half of 2012 and will be one of the front-runners in its segment in terms of CO2 emissions.

The styling of the Citroën C4 Aircross draws upon the Marque’s DNA, combining the vitality of the other models in the range with the powerful styling of an off-roader. The distinctive styling includes a front end of horizontal lines with aerodynamic vents at the extremities, accentuating the vehicle’s compact appearance. The contours of the bonnet, which is visible from the driver’s seat, the wide wheel arches and the reduced overhang all enhance the impression of robustness produced by this unique silhouette. Close attention went into every detail and each part is designed to combine style and performance. The Citroën C4 Aircross’ light signature, visible by day and at night, is formed by the LEDs at the front, which are vertically aligned in the aerodynamic vents. The shape of the large 18-inch wheels and the rear lights, directly inspired by the Hypnos concept car, has been reworked for optimal air flow and reduced CO2 emissions. The styling of the Citroën C4 Aircross draws upon the Marque’s DNA, combining the vitality of the other models in the range with the powerful styling of an off-roader.

The sophisticated design of the Citroën C4 Aircross includes repeater lights in the door mirrors, light guides in the rear lights and a rearview camera built into the chrome trim on the tailgate.

The expressive style draws upon Citroën’s distinctive design cues. Seen from the side, the inverted shark fin wing, which also hints at the glass side surfaces of the Hypnos concept car, is decorated with a chrome compass to show that the model is a member of the brand’s SUV family.

A smart vehicle with transmission to suit all needs

With its latest-generation four-wheel transmission system, Citroën C4 Aircross boasts perfect roadholding under all conditions. This technology allows the car to be driven permanently in four-wheel drive mode, while the torque is optimally distributed between the front and rear wheels.

Using the single control positioned behind the gear lever, drivers can manually select one of the three transmission modes to meet their needs and their wishes: 2WD for optimal fuel consumption, 4WD, which automatically distributes the torque between the front and rear axles, or lock mode, which increases the torque transmitted to the rear wheels for more grip under severe conditions.

Standard-setting CO2 emissions

Citroën C4 Aircross fulfils the brand’s commitments to environmental protection with its HDi 110 engine, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, making this model is one of the front-runners in its segment in terms of CO2 emissions. And the HDi 110 engine will be available with 2WD and 4WD, so that everyone can choose the version that is best suited to their lifestyle.
Right from launch, the Citroën C4 Aircross will also benefit from the performance of the HDi 150 engine (also available with 2WD and 4WD with a 6-speed manual gearbox) and a 115 bhp 1.6i petrol engine (available in a 2WD version with a 5-speed manual gearbox).

Compact, manoeuvrable and a pleasure to drive

With its compact dimensions (4.34m long, 1.79m wide, 1.63m high), the outstandingly manoeuvrable (10.6m turning circle) Citroën C4 Aircross is at home in towns and cities. The comfort of this 5-seater is worthy of a saloon in the next segment up, while the 442-l boot comfortably meets the demands of modern life. The chassis and suspension were specially developed for a drive that is faithful to Citroën’s values, offering the ideal compromise between comfort and roadholding.

Escape to a new mindset

Take to the road with complete peace of mind. The raised driver’s position in the Citroën C4 Aircross offers a clear view of the road and surroundings.

Occupants of the Citroën C4 Aircross can enjoy blue skies even in the city, thanks to the large panoramic glass, which bathes the cab in light, contributing to the passengers’ sense of well-being. At night, the atmosphere is cosier, and the panoramic roof is lit up by the LED light guides built into the roof.

The ergonomics of the highly functional drive station are designed so that drivers can get to know the car quickly and for easy everyday use. To make the drive and the ride even more comfortable, the Citroën C4 Aircross is crammed with equipment, from the hands-free access and starter, to the GPS navigation system with its touch-sensitive screen, rearview camera, transmission mode selector, USB port and Bluetooth connection for portable audio players.

2012 Citroen DS3

Following styling interpretations from Yves Saint-Laurent, Kenzo and Orla Kiely, the CITROËN DS3 is now available in a new Hickory brown body colour and with adhesive roof decoration, designed by the Italian winner of the CITROËN Creative Awards. The Marque is also revealing ‘Grey Matter’, a limited edition DS3 produced in just 750 units.

One of the most attractive features of the CITROËN DS3 is its radical, seductive style, which becomes exclusive in a variety of personalized styles. For the summer season, the CITROËN DS3 is sporting new Hickory brown body paint in addition to the ten existing colours. CITROËN has also introduced a new decorative sticker theme, Flavio, 100% inspired by the winning roof of the CITROËN Creative Awards. The abstract, gold adhesive decoration is named after its designer. The brand has thus delivered on its promises by marketing the winning project from its first international design competition. The CITROËN DS3 is a decidedly individual and original automotive object.

For customers who aspire to something even more exclusive, the CITROËN DS3 is now available in a special limited series of 750 cars called ‘Grey Matter’. The special series model features a matte grey body with chrome detailing on the side mirrors, side strips and tail light casings. The roof comes in black or white, enhanced by a decorative kit and 17-inch diamond alloy wheels in the same colours. The interior features Mistral leather and a MyWay Select Comfort Pack, which includes automatic climate control, the MyWay navigation system and the HiFi system. Two petrol engines are available for an exclusive driving experience: the VTi 120 and the THP 150, priced at €23,400 and €24,950 ex-VAT respectively.

The CITROËN DS3 boasts an irresistible power of attraction and has already won a number of distinctions. The latest is “Women’s World Car of the Year”, voted in April by a panel of 14 female journalists and racing drivers from around the world. The criteria were safety, design, storage space, driving ease and environmental features – all decisive factors for women when they buy a car.

2012 Citroen DS5

2012 Citroen DS5

Citroën has revealed the eagerly anticipated third model in its innovative and distinctive DS line: DS5. Designed to express the full extent of Citroën’s ‘Créative Technologie’, DS5 combines ground-breaking style, rewarding driving dynamics and exceptional refinement with innovative engineering solutions.

DS5 is the first Citroën model to feature HYbrid4 diesel hybrid technology, providing enhanced performance and class leading environmental credentials. The advanced HYbrid4 system delivers 200bhp; four-wheel drive capability; emission-free electric power for the city; and an acceleration boost function for the open road – with total CO2 emissions of just 99g/km.

The DS line has already redefined expectations in the supermini segment with DS3, and combines the style of a coupé and the flexibility of a five-door hatchback with DS4. Progressing to the executive segment, DS5 targets customers looking for a truly bold and assertive car with a resolutely modern approach to vehicle design.

Based on the futuristic and magical C-SportLounge concept, DS5 bringstrue technological innovation to its class.

The dynamic exterior reflects a modern expression of status and promises enhanced driving pleasure. Flowing lines, a sleek profile and muscular wheel arches – which wrap themselves around the large (16″ to 19″) alloy wheels – give DS5 an undoubted air of refined confidence.

The assertive front end instantly identifies DS5 as a member of the DS family. There is an oversized air intake, a large chrome-finished grille housing the chevrons and a new LED light signature. A distinguishing feature, DS5 boasts chrome-finished ‘sabre’ inserts stretching from the top of each headlamp to the windscreen.

The rear design takes DS5′s on-road presence to yet another level. The car stands firmly on wide tracks, emphasised by two tail pipes built into the rear bumper and highlighted by a rear signature featuring six light guides.

Citroën DS5 is equally charismatic inside, with a remarkable cabin fully consistent with the exterior styling. The driver-focused cockpit features a coupé-like driving position with a near-vertical steering wheel and a wide central console. DS5 instantly fires the imagination. An array of buttons, switches, scroll wheels and toggles are grouped on two central consoles, one low down and one above the driver’s head, ‘pilot-style’. A simple push on the START button brings the interior to life. The colour Head-Up Display projects essential information into the driver’s line of sight and the ambient lighting bathes the cockpit in a heady mix of red and white.

Most importantly, DS5 benefits from Citroën’s expertise in quality and refinement. Each detail has been carefully considered, with premium materials such as fine-grain Club leather and exclusive designs like the ‘watchstrap’ seat upholstery – a signature touch of the DS line that is unique to the market.

Reconciling fun at the wheel with comfort and practicality, DS5 opens up new horizons with pioneering architecture, including:

A sleek, compact body (4.52m long, 1.85m wide) and a driving position worthy of a Gran Turismo coupé.
A roomy boot (up to 465 litres VDA) reminiscent of a Sportwagon.
Five real seats, four doors and all the access and modularity of a hatchback.
For its motor show debut in Shanghai, DS5 appears in a one-off livery as the Citroën DS5 White Pearl. The cabin features ebony-coloured full-grain leather, contrasting subtly with silver-flecked overstitching. Interior detailing includes decorative inserts in Markassa ebony and a highly reflective fascia, created by applying several layers of lacquer. DS5 White Pearl also sports specially designed 20-inch alloy wheels.
